Getting ready to be released from prison in itself is a scary and exciting time. Being unsure of what the world is about to offer after having been in a time out and away from society is an unsettling feeling. Having had contact with Cindy via letters and the love and support that she and her husband Tom was comforting, just to know that there was someone that I could count on to help me as I was about to come back from a 5-year sentence was nice. I felt like a child needing someone’s hand to hold as I took unsteady steps. Just the comfort in knowing that someone was there to grab onto made a world of difference.
